Elevating Communities with Purposeful Impact
Who are we?
Agooenians International Organization (AIO), Inc. is a Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation. It was established in 2018 and has since succeeded its charitable endeavors and community gathering with joyous celebrations.
Our Story
The vision to unite the Agoo community in La Union, Philippines, began in September 1969 during a gathering at the San Francisco home of Mr. and Mrs. Claro Lagleva.
On September 25, 1969, a dedicated group of twenty men and women from Agoo came together at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Domingo Sabado in San Francisco to establish The Agooenians Association of California. Just a week later, on the first Sunday of October, the inaugural officers were elected at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Abelardo Estonilo.
In May 1971, we celebrated our first Agooenians Association Fiesta, where Cindy Estonactoc was crowned the first queen, joined by princesses Cynthia Marie Rualo and Mary Jean Banayat.
On May 5, 2001, we proudly hosted our 30th Annual Fiesta and the induction of new officers. This event also marked a significant milestone as we celebrated our registered tax-exempt non-profit status, a long-cherished goal for our association.
As part of our tradition, we honor our Patron Saint, Santa Monica, expressing gratitude for her unwavering love and intercession. Through her blessings, we have thrived in this country, enjoying its prosperity and joy. As a vibrant Filipino community, we celebrate our culture, customs, and traditions, fostering understanding and connection with our American friends and neighbors.
Mabuhay!
